It's staggering isnt it? When you say those magic words to someone, and they say them back to you, and a few years later you find out there are things about eacother that you just cant set right. Like you love her but are somehow emotionally unavailable. You didnt mean to be, but that's how you are. Or she loves you but finds the idea of being married to you untenable and would rather be free to do all the things married people do with someone who isnt you, but without the commitment. Suddenly that together life is alone life. Its just you and either you have gotten yourself a different place because the place you were in is haunted by you together, or you are still in that place because its what you can afford, but at night the memories fill the room and you are not sure there is room for you anymore.
